Blog Feature – RunwayRundown.com

23:41

Hi everyone! Here’s the long awaited web project I was mentioning before in previous posts. This my first fashion website feature for my blog, that I prepared myself. I got to interview Kim the Co-Founder / Editor-In-Chief of RunwayRundown.com and it was a great experience! So I welcome to the world of RunwayRundown.com.

 What is RunwayRundown?
Runway Rundown is the online styling and shopping source for the fashionista on a budget. Runwayrundown.com is free online resource for the fashionista in all of us. The daily fashion blog spots the hottest trends around the world and then, finds the same look for less!   And, finding your fashion passion is easy on Runwayrundown.com.  You can search by season, designer, color, material or trend. When you're ready to rock your new look,Runwayrundown.com links you directly to the discounts!

How was the website created, who are the founders?

RR was an accumulation of both Jamie and I's talents and interests.  The site was built so we could have a project of our own and eventually turn it into a business that they both ran together.  Jamie brings his computer savvy skills and I bring my fashion sense and marketing skills.  We are both grateful for our success and the amazing response we've received from viewers, and are thrilled to see how RR develops in the future.

What inspired you to start this website/who are your inspirations in your life or daily?
The main inspiration was to find a way to work for myself and to enjoy what I do.  So naturally that would be shopping and styling!  There are so many inspirations in my life, obvious ones being friends and family, but mostly anyone that does something for themselves that makes them happy.  I think its so easy to get lost in the grind of life and its harder said than done to make sure you're happy.

How long does it take to process/find similar designer clothing and put together each post?
Not too long, luckily I love staying in the know when it comes to trend forecasting and I constantly consume myself with fashion news that I can research the runway looks and style them w/ affordable comparisons pretty quickly.

Who are your favourite designers?
I currently have a strong love for: Alberta Ferretti, Emilio Pucci, Lanvin, Marchesa and surprisingly Victoria Beckham has really proven herself her last couple of collections.  She is officially a contender!

What are your favourite Spring/Summer 2011 trends and what trends or fashions are you looking forward for Fall/Winter 2011?
I love that Orange is such a hit this Spring.  I say you can never go wrong with a bright pop of color!  Stripes are a great trend for Summer as you can wear them casually or you can dress them up, and don't be fooled, they do not always make you look wider than you are.  Fall always brings out new suiting options and I love how double breasted tux jackets are bringing sexy back.  You can wear them as part of the suit, over a sexy top to show some skin, or even as a mini dress.  The rich jewel tones for Fall are also something to look forward too, deep purples, cobalt blues, emerald greens, yummy. And the key color for Fall is red, more fabulously referred to as scarlet.  This is a great color on pretty much everyone, so go out and grab up something in red now! Thats what we call fashion forward.

What is in RunwayRundown near/distant future (such as collaborations/personal blogs)?
We want to see our content continue to grow as well as our community grow. I would love to expand and start featuring mens fashion.  Also, we would love to develop the site further to make it more interactive for our viewers, so they can utilize their individual accounts and build their own online closets with us.
